Course description
There are 3.6 million people in the UK that have been diagnosed with diabetes, and it is estimated that 46% of people who are living with diabetes are undiagnosed. Although diabetes can be life changing, many cases of diabetes can be managed by simple lifestyle changes. The Level 3 Certificate in Care and Management of Diabetes aims to increase understanding and awareness of diabetes, particularly for those working in the health and social care sector.

How will the course be delivered?
Course will be delivered using an online platform over 20 weeks

Will I need to study or practise outside the classroom?
There is a considerable amount of work for you to do in your own time for this qualification. Please allow a minimum of 5 hours per week for this.

How will I know I'm making progress?
During the first session, your tutor will discuss your goals and current level in relation to the course. Based on this assessment, you will agree individual targets which you will record in your individual learning plan (ILP). You and your tutor will review your targets regularly to ensure that you are making progress; these will be written in your individual learning plan. There will be formal assignments which may include essays, research, reading or preparing presentations.

What will I need for the course?
Please bring a pen, notepad and a file for your hand outs. Access to a pc outside the classroom is essential for completing classroom projects.

Progression
Progression routes can include; Level 3 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care Level 3 Diploma in Clinical Healthcare Support Access to HE Diploma: Health, Health and Social Care professions, Nursing and Healthcare professions Support progression onto appropriate qualifications, and into relevant employment within the health and social care sector.
